I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2012 and since 2015 my care for private patients as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon has been at the Nuffield, Taunton.
I also continue my NHS practice at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton where I was appointed a Consultant in 2015.
I treat patients privately and on the NHS for a variety of eye problems ranging from cataract surgery, premium lens implants, YAG laser capsulotomy, intra-vitreal injections and vitrectomy surgery.
I am a Royal College Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor involved with training other surgeons.
Currently, I am the clinical service lead for the Ophthalmology department at Musgrove Park Hospital. Previously I have been the clinical lead for NHS diabetic retinopathy screening in Somerset (from 2016 to 2021).
Since 2019 I have sat on the Royal College Of Ophthalmologists’ Research Panel (the British Ophthalmological Surveillance Unit), which helps to co-ordinate national studies investigating important aspects of eye care.
I can offer treatment for patients with AMD (age-related macular degeneration), diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular oedema (DMO), retinal vein occlusion (RVO), retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreomacular traction, trauma, vitreous haemorrhage and floaters.
In addition to straightforward cataract surgical cases, my surgical retinal training helps me carry out complex
cataract surgery
and various complications such as capsule rupture, dropped lens nucleus, secondary lens insertions and endophthalmitis.
